In the past 15 years I have spent approximately $ 250,000 buying birds from
most of the big name breeders in the world, but in the beginning most of it was
wasted until I started learning, then I started by looking for birds with pedigrees with the most winners and proven producers that raced against many of the worlds best fanciers & birds for several years in multiple races in different places in the country or the world...

Then the next step was to find the most appealing birds, the best handling, highly graded for the attributes that I have found in the handling of hundreds of Champions in my travels, what I would call foundation quality,birds with the qualities that I wanted in all my birds...

I wanted birds that not only raced like and bred Champions, but I also wanted them to look and handle like Champions and have all the attributes of a Champion. In order to increase the odds of their progeny being world class racers I would have to BUY MORE THEN JUST ONE FROM A FAMILY of Champions and spend a few years line breeding in order to achieve my goal of breeding FOUNDATION QUALITY BIRDS for the following reason, the exception to the rule..... I, along with alot of you have handled, have had, have heard of, and have known super breeders that are just plain ugly, handle badly, and have no apparent good attributes that you would want to build a family on.... But they do have something, it could be brains, heart, or one of the most important attributes that a bird racing in a money race or futurity against birds from all over the place, and that is their great natural immunities...

One of the best family of birds out there that made me realize about the immunities was developed by my friend Dave Clausing, I think I was one of Dave's first customers back in 1992 and I have seen Dave come a long way. I remember one day when we were talking about me picking out or grading the birds I wanted instead of listening to him when he said I should take this bird and that bird but I didn't like the way they handled, and he said yes I know, but some of his best birds were deep and skinny, but being the thick headed German that I am, I had to do it the hard way, so Dave would let me hand pick my birds so I had some real beauties but it took me longer to build my family. In fact the last bird I bought from Dave he called me and said he has a hen from " 410 " mated to the winner of the Million Dollar Race " NEVER SAY DIE " who's mother " 248 " is a full sister to " 410 ", and he told me that it was my kind of bird, so I said send her up, and he was right she is a fantastic pigeon, and I tell you I can't wait to see how her children breed,she is just beautiful, he even wrote me up a statement saying that she was the most beautiful bird bred
from them.

To some it up I have been Building, I have taken every day of my life over the last 15 years and worked in every aspect of the racing pigeon business, from
being president of the club, selling feed,shipping and releasing races, taking grading lessons and then grading for fanciers,building coops, experimenting with all kinds of medications, and much more, ALL IN ORDER TO LEARN... I have taken the most famous and the best birds out there to offer, based on all of what I mentioned above, spared no expense, I even lost my wife over it, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise.....
